The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) invites applications for admission into its Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) Programme for the academic year 2024–2025. The following details outline the complete schedule, eligibility, selection criteria, application process, fees, and other essential information for aspiring candidates.
Revised Admission Schedule For WBUAFS M.V.Sc 2025
- Written Test: 03 April 2025 (Thursday), 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM
Venue: Examination Hall, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Vivek Bhawan, 68, K.B. Sarani, Kolkata – 700 037 - Publication of Merit List: 08 April 2025 (Tuesday) at 5:00 PM
- Counselling, Seat Allotment & Admission (Fee Payment): 17 April 2025 (Thursday)
- Registration & Commencement of Semester: 21 April 2025 (Monday)
Eligibility:
- Candidates must hold a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a recognized University.
- Minimum 55% marks (or 6.2 OGPA in 10-point scale); for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B, the minimum is 50% marks or 6.0 OGPA.
- Final Transcript/Provisional Degree Certificate must be submitted with the application.
Selection Procedure:
- Merit list based on 100 marks:
- 30% weightage to academic score in UG level.
- 70% weightage to Written Test (MCQ-based).
- Written Test: 70 MCQs, 1 hour 45 minutes duration.
Each correct answer: +1 mark, Each wrong answer: –0.25 mark. - Minimum qualifying score: 50 out of 100 (50%) in combined academic + test performance.
- ICAR qualified candidates are exempt from the test but must fulfill eligibility criteria.
Reservation:
- As per Government of West Bengal norms for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/PwD categories.
- Unfilled SC seats will be offered to ST candidates and vice versa; similarly between OBC-A and OBC-B.
Application Process:
- Online application only through: www.wbuafsce.org
- Separate application for each subject is required.
- Application Fee:
- ₹1500 for General, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS
- ₹1200 for SC/ST/PwD
(plus service charges & applicable taxes)
Documents Required (Scanned copies in JPG/PDF):
- Secondary Examination Admit Card / Birth Certificate (Age proof)
- Final Transcript / Mark Sheets of Bachelor’s Degree
- Final or Provisional Degree Certificate
- Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
- NOC from employer (for in-service candidates)
- Character Certificate from last attended institution
- Anti-ragging declaration (prescribed format)
Important Notes:
- Candidates who appeared in the cancelled exam (WBUAFS M.V.Sc 2025) on 20.03.2025 are automatically eligible for the rescheduled test; no additional fee required.
- No individual intimation will be sent. All notifications will be made available on the website and Notice Board of the Controller of Examinations.

Hostel & Library:
- Hostels available for boys and girls at all campuses, subject to availability.
- Modern libraries at Belgachia (Main Campus), Mohanpur and Chakgaria campuses.
Scholarship:
- Merit scholarships may be awarded based on availability and as per Government and University regulations.
Course Details:
- M.V.Sc. is a 2-year programme (minimum 4 semesters, maximum 10).
- Includes coursework, seminars, and research under faculty guidance.
- 75% attendance required in each course to appear for examinations (with possible 5% condonation).
Cancellation & Migration:
- Admission is provisional until physical verification of documents.
- Migration Certificate required for students from other universities before end-semester exams.
- Admission may be cancelled for misrepresentation or false information. No fee refund.
Conduct & Discipline:
- Students are expected to abide by University rules and UGC anti-ragging guidelines. Violation may result in expulsion.
