Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2025 Admission Notice
Conducted by Anna University, Chennai
Applications are invited for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2025 for admission to the following postgraduate programs:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
TANCET 2025 Participating Institutions
TANCET is conducted for admissions to programs offered by:
- University Departments of Anna University, Chennai, and Regional Campuses.
- University Colleges of Engineering.
- Annamalai University.
- Government and Government-Aided Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges.
- Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science, including standalone institutions) under:
- Government quota.
- Voluntarily surrendered seats by self-financing colleges.
Other universities in Tamil Nadu may also accept TANCET scores for admissions.
TANCET 2025 Eligibility
- Master of Business Administration (MBA):
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline.
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for BC/BCM/MBC/SC/SCA/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu).
- Accepted academic patterns:
- 10+2+3/4/5 years
- 10+3 years diploma + 3 years degree
- AMIE or equivalent qualifications with 2 years of experience (for diploma holders).
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA):
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in BCA/BSc (IT/Computer Science) or other disciplines with Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level.
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for BC/BCM/MBC/SC/SCA/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu).
- Accepted academic patterns:
- 10+2+3/4/5 years
- 10+3 years diploma + 3 years degree
- AMIE or equivalent qualifications with 2 years of experience (for diploma holders).
Note: Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree may also apply.

Application Process and Fee Details
- Mode of Application: Online registration through the TANCET official website.
- Fees:
- SC/SCA/ST (Tamil Nadu): ₹500 per program.
- Others: ₹1000 per program.
Note: Candidates applying for both MBA and MCA programs must pay the applicable fee for each.

Efforts will be made to allot the preferred center, but it may change due to logistical reasons.
Test Pattern
MBA Exam Structure:

English usage | Check grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary skills. |
MCA Exam Structure:

Logical Reasoning | Evaluate logical thinking and structured reasoning. |
Computer Awareness | Test knowledge of basic computer science concepts. |
Marking Scheme:
- Correct Answer: +1 mark.
- Wrong Answer: -0.25 marks (negative marking).
- Questions with multiple shadings will be treated as wrong answers.

Reservation Policy
The allocation of seats will follow the Government of Tamil Nadu’s reservation norms:
- OC: 31%
- BC: 26.5%
- BCM: 3.5%
- MBC/DNC: 20%
- SC: 15%
- SCA: 3%
- ST: 1%
Documents Required
The following documents must be uploaded during the application process:
- X and XII Standard mark sheets.
- Qualifying degree certificates (provisional or final) and semester-wise mark sheets.
- Transfer certificate.
- Community certificate (for reserved categories in Tamil Nadu).
- Nativity certificate (if applicable).
Post-Matric Scholarship
Eligible SC/SCA/ST candidates with parental income below ₹2,50,000 can apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship.
