The School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV) invites applications for Rolling Admissions to its Doctoral Programs (PhD) in Full-Time and Part-Time modes for the academic year 2025-26.

Candidates can apply under two categories:
- Full-Time PhD
- Research Scholars with Institutional Fellowship
- Self-Financed Research Scholars
- Sponsored Research Scholars
- Part-Time PhD
- In-House Faculty, Staff, or Project Staff
- Working Professionals Sponsored by Employers
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and 55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
- Candidates applying with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least 70 percent marks or 7.5 CGPA for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and 65 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, along with three years of experience in teaching, research, or professional practice.
- Sponsored Research Scholars from government organizations, PSUs, or recognized institutions must have at least 50 percent marks or 5.5 CGPA in their qualifying degree.
ADMISSION PROCESS
- Candidates must submit an online application along with a research proposal.
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to appear for:
- Stage I: Written Examination
- Stage II: Interview and Research Presentation
Final selection will be based on performance in the interview, research proposal, and presentation.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
- Processing of applications is conducted twice a year:
- Odd Semester: Applications submitted by March 15
- Even Semester: Applications submitted by September 15
- Candidates must apply online at spavadm.samarth.edu.in.
APPLICATION FEE
- General, EWS, OBC candidates: ₹3,000
- SC, ST, PwD candidates: ₹2,000
- The fee is non-refundable and must be paid separately for each PhD program applied for.
RESERVATION POLICY
- Reservation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwD candidates will be applicable as per Government of India rules.
- The number of fellowships available for full-time research scholars will be limited and not guaranteed for all applicants.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPAV PHD CANDIDATES
- Part-Time Candidates must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer confirming that they will be allowed sufficient time for research.
- Full-Time Sponsored Candidates must submit a Leave cum Sponsorship Letter along with their NOC, ensuring full-time commitment to research.
- Candidates currently enrolled in a postgraduate program can apply, provided they submit their final semester results before joining the PhD program.
