Admission Notification for Ph.D. Programme (2024-2025 Session – Even)
Presidency University invites online applications from UGC or UGC-CSIR NET-qualified candidates for admission to its Ph.D. Programme across various departments for the session 2024-2025 (Even). The application process requires candidates to submit the online form and pay a non-refundable fee of ₹500.
Eligibility:
- Academic Qualification: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). A 5% relaxation is provided for SC/ST/PwD candidates as per UGC norms.
- Certification: Valid UGC or UGC-CSIR NET qualification certificate.
Application Procedure:

- Pay the application fee using SBI Collect Portal with the system-generated application number.
- Submit the hard copy of the application, along with necessary documents and payment receipt, to:

Department-Wise Seat Availability (Provisional):
The total number of seats across departments is categorized by UR, SC, ST, and EWS. Notable departments include Chemistry (49 seats), Physics (40 seats), Mathematics (22 seats), and Life Sciences (14 seats). Reservations for PwD candidates are as per government norms.

Selection Process:

Reservations:
Seats are reserved for SC/ST/EWS/PwD as per the West Bengal State Higher Education policies. Candidates claiming these reservations must provide valid certificates from competent authorities.
