PhD in Rural Development 2025 Program Details
Programme Duration:
- Minimum: 3 years (including 1 year of mandatory residential coursework)
- Maximum: 6 years (extendable up to 8 years with re-registration).
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 55% marks or equivalent in relevant/allied subjects (as per UGC JRF/NET standards).
- M.Phil degree in relevant/allied subjects.
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree (8-semester programme) with 75% marks.
Examinations:
- Candidates must have qualified UGC-NET (JRF/NET) or GATE in relevant subjects.
Relaxations:
- 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS/Differently-Abled categories.
Available Seats:
- Total: 15 seats (including 2 part-time seats).
- Reservations: EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD as per government norms.
Admission Process:
- Based on combined merit of UGC-NET/GATE percentile and personal interview performance.
- Weightage: 70% (NET/GATE) and 30% (Interview).
