The Prof. G. Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education (PGRRCDE), established in 1977, is dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible education. Named after Prof. G. Ram Reddy, a pioneer in distance education in India, the center offers a wide range of programs to meet the needs of diverse learners, including working professionals, homemakers, and students from rural areas. The programs are designed to ensure flexibility while maintaining academic rigor, with comprehensive support through study materials, online resources, and counseling. They were perhaps the first to introduce the concept of “Open University” and new non-traditional courses in India. Their diploma course, the erstwhile PG Diploma in Maths is still unique and a very popular course. They were also the first to allow interdisciplinary eligibility/mobility for many programs way before the NEP 2020 was introduced.
