NTA GAT Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) invites applications for the Graduate Aptitude Test – Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2025 for admission to DBT-supported Postgraduate programs in Biotechnology and allied areas at participating institutions/universities across India.

NTA GAT B Dates:

  • Online Registration: 3rd February 2025 to 3rd March 2025 (up to 5:00 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 3rd March 2025 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Correction Window: 5th March 2025 to 6th March 2025
  • Admit Card Release: To be announced on the official website
  • Date of Examination: 20th April 2025 (Sunday)
  • Exam Timing: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Result Declaration: To be announced after the exam

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Only bonafide Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Academic Qualification: Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the participating institutions/universities (refer to Appendix-II of the Information Bulletin). Candidates awaiting final results may apply under the “Result Awaited” category.

  • M.V.Sc. Animal Biotechnology

Application Process:

  1. Registration: Visit NTA Website and register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  2. Fill Application Form: Complete the online application form with personal, academic, and contact details.
  3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), and proof of date of birth.
  4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or Wallet.

Examination Fee:

  • General (UR)/OBC-NCL/EWS: INR 1300
  • SC/ST/PwD: INR 650
    Applicable service charges and GST are extra.

Examination Details:

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Pattern: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Section A: 60 questions (10+2 level Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) – 1 mark each
    • Section B: 100 questions (Graduate level Basic Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied areas) – 3 marks each (attempt any 60)
  • Negative Marking: 0.5 marks deducted for each incorrect answer in Section A, and 1 mark deducted in Section B.
  • Medium: English

Stipend Details:

  • M.Sc. Biotechnology & Allied Areas: INR 5000/month
  • M.Sc. Agricultural Biotechnology: INR 7500/month
  • M.Tech./M.V.Sc. Programs: INR 12,000/month
