National Law University Odisha (NLUO), a leading institution in legal education and research, invites applications for its Ph.D. program in Law and Interdisciplinary Studies for the academic year 2025-26. The program is designed for individuals aiming to pursue advanced research in law and allied disciplines, with opportunities for interdisciplinary engagement.
Seats and Categories
- Full-Time Ph.D.: 15 seats
- Part-Time Ph.D.: 5 seats
- Ph.D. (Interdisciplinary with Law): 5 seats (3 Full-Time, 2 Part-Time)
Eligibility
- A Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) or a related discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university.
- Candidates with M.Phil./UGC-NET/JRF/SLET qualifications may be exempt from the entrance test.
Application Process
- Candidates must apply online and submit a research proposal along with the application.
- Application fee:
- ₹6,000 for General category
- ₹5,000 for SC/ST candidates
- The last date to apply is March 31, 2025.
Selection Process
- Admission will be based on the NLUO Entrance Test, followed by an interview.
- Candidates who qualify the entrance test will be required to present their Research Proposal during the interview.
Fee Structure and Fellowships
- Tuition Fee: As per university regulations.
- Fellowship: Selected full-time Ph.D. scholars will receive a stipend of ₹30,000 per month.
Test Centers
- The entrance exam will be conducted in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Cuttack, Lucknow, and Guwahati.
