Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines at NIT Nagaland.
Programmes Offered
- Ph.D. Programme:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Sciences and Humanities (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry)
- Integrated Ph.D. Programme:
- Offered for all engineering departments (full-time only).
- Interdisciplinary Research Areas:
- Topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Systems, IoT, Robotics, Renewable Energy, and more.
Eligibility
Ph.D. in Engineering:
- Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
- Integrated Master’s/Bachelor’s degree from IIT/NIT or CFTI with a valid GATE score.
Ph.D. in Sciences and Humanities:
- Master’s degree in Science/Humanities with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
Integrated Ph.D. Programme:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 80% marks or 8.5 CGPA and a valid GATE score.
Preference: Candidates with a valid GATE/UGC-NET score will be prioritized for scholarships.
NIT Nagaland PhD 2025 Admission Deadline & Application Process

- Fill out the form and attach required documents (certificates, academic profile, research proposal, etc.).

Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility and valid scores (GATE/UGC-NET).
- Final selection through written test and interview.
