NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY-CUM-ENTRANCE TEST (NEET UG 2025)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and other undergraduate medical courses in approved medical institutions across India.

NEET UG 2025 Last Date to Apply | Timelines

  • Start of Online Application: 7 February 2025
  • Last Date to Apply: 7 March 2025 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 7 March 2025 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Correction Window: 9–11 March 2025
  • Admit Card Release: By 1 May 2025
  • Exam Date: 4 May 2025 (Sunday)
  • Duration of Exam: 3 Hours (180 Minutes)
  • Timing of Exam: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (IST)
  • City Intimation Announcement: By 26 April 2025
  • Result Declaration: By 14 June 2025 (Tentative)

Eligibility

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 17 years as of 31 December 2025.
  • Upper Age Limit: No upper age limit as per NMC guidelines.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed or appeared in Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology):
    • General: 50%
    • SC/ST/OBC-NCL: 40%
    • PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 40%

Nationality

  • Eligible candidates include Indian Citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals (as per institution-specific guidelines).
  • OCI & Foreign Nationals must check their eligibility with respective medical colleges/universities.

Application Process

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit NTA Website
  • Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Generate a password and Application Number.

Step 2: Fill Application Form

  • Enter personal, educational, and category details.
  • Select preferred exam city (3 choices based on permanent/present address).
  • Choose language of question paper.

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Recent Passport-size Photograph (10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Postcard-size Photograph (10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Candidate’s Signature (10 kb – 50 kb)
  • Left & Right Hand Thumb Impression (10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable) (50 kb – 300 kb)
  • PwBD Certificate (if applicable) (50 kb – 300 kb)
  • Class 10 Marksheet & Certificate (50 kb – 300 kb)

Step 4: Fee Payment

  • Online payment via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI.

  • Mode of Examination: Pen & Paper-Based (Offline)

  • Marking Scheme:
    • +4 marks for every correct answer.

Examination Centers

  • Candidates can select three cities for the exam center.
  • Allocation will be based on availability.
  • NEET UG 2025 will be conducted in India and select international locations (Check prospectus below for all the details)

Admit Card

  • Admit cards will be available online on the NTA website.
  • It must be downloaded and printed.
  • Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof.

Admissions to all undergraduate medical courses will be based on NEET (UG) scores through the following counseling processes:

Seats Available

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats – Managed by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
  • 85% State Quota Seats – Managed by respective State Authorities.
  • Private Medical Colleges Seats.
  • Deemed/Central Universities (AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, etc.).
  • AFMC, ESIC, and Other Government Institutions.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates must retain their Application Number and Password for future use.
  • Only one application is allowed per candidate.
  • Candidates must carry the admit card and a valid ID proof on exam day.
  • No barred items (electronic gadgets, study materials, food, etc.) are allowed inside the examination hall.
  • Dress Code: Candidates must follow the NTA-prescribed dress code for the exam.
