ISRO Young Scientist Programme YUVIKA 2025
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) invites applications from school students for its special initiative, Young Scientist Programme – YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA 2025). This structured programme is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Space Technology, Space Science, and their applications, thereby inspiring future interest in STEM-related research and careers.

YUVIKA 2025 Selection:
Candidates will be selected based on the following weighted parameters:
- Class 8 Examination Marks: 50%
- Online Quiz Performance: 10%
- Participation in Science Fairs:
- School Level (last 3 years): 2%
- District Level (last 3 years): 5%
- State Level or above (last 3 years): 10%
- Olympiads or Equivalent (Ranks 1-3):
- School Level (last 3 years): 2%
- District Level (last 3 years): 4%
- State Level or above (last 3 years): 5%
- Sports Competition Winners (Ranks 1-3):
- School Level (last 3 years): 2%
- District Level (last 3 years): 4%
- State Level or above (last 3 years): 5%
- Membership in Scouts & Guides/NCC/NSS (last 3 years): 5%
- Students from rural schools within Panchayat areas: 15%
Programme Centres:
The programme will be conducted across seven ISRO centres:
- Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun
- Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram
- Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota
- U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru
- Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad
- National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad
- North-Eastern Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong
Eligibility (YUVIKA 2025) :
Students studying in Class 9 as of January 01, 2025, in schools across India are eligible to apply.
Travel Reimbursement & Other Expenses
Selected students will be reimbursed travel expenses (limited to II AC train fare or AC bus fare including Volvo) for the journey to and from the nearest railway station or bus terminal to the designated ISRO centre. Original tickets must be submitted for reimbursement. If travel is by a higher-class mode, reimbursement will be limited to II AC fare.
All expenses including course materials, lodging, and meals during the programme will be covered by ISRO.
