MBA Admissions 2025 | Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), IIT Kanpur
The Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur invites applications for its full-time MBA program (Batch 2025-27).
Eligibility
Qualifying Examination
Applicants must appear for the CAT 2024 examination conducted by the IIMs.
Educational Qualifications
For General (GEN), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) candidates:
- CAT 2024 overall percentile: 80 or above
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) from a recognized university/institution with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale)
- Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 or equivalent
For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled Persons (DAP) candidates:
- CAT 2024 overall percentile: 55 or above
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) from a recognized university/institution with at least 50% marks or a CPI of 5.0 (on a 10-point scale)
- Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 or equivalent
Candidates appearing for their final degree examination can also apply. If selected, they must complete all requirements of their qualifying degree at the time of joining the MBA program.

MBA Admission Process 2025-27
Application Submission
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must apply online by filling out the application form at the official Website.
Shortlisting for GD/PI
Candidates will be shortlisted based on CAT 2024 percentiles. The department will determine the cut-offs based on the number of applications received and the available seats for each category.
Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) Assessment
- GD assessment: Evaluates communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- PI assessment: Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic background, work experience, and interview performance using a structured evaluation matrix.
- The GD/PI panels will include members from DoMS, other IIT Kanpur departments, and external experts if required.
Interview Dates:
- 01-04 March 2025 (Noida)
- 01-04 March 2025 (Kanpur)
Merit List and Final Selection
- Candidates who qualify in Stage 3 will be considered for the merit list.
- The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate score of all evaluation parameters.
- Separate merit lists and waitlists will be maintained for each category (GN, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, DAP) as per Government of India (GoI) reservation norms.
