Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE) – Monsoon 2025
About PGEE
The Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE) is conducted for admission to the following advanced degree programs:
- Master of Technology (M.Tech): A coursework-based program.
- Master of Science (M.S) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D): Programs involving coursework and research culminating in a thesis.
Program Duration
- M.Tech: 2 years
- M.S (by Research): 2 years
- Ph.D: 5 years
Programs, Examination & Eligibility
Candidates must have secured at least 60% or an equivalent grade in their qualifying degree to be eligible for admission.

- Application Portal Opens: February 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM
- Application Portal Closes: March 26, 2025
- Entrance Examination: April 19, 2025 (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
- M.S by Research Interviews (On-Campus): June 10 & 11, 2025
- Ph.D Interviews (On-Campus): June 12 & 13, 2025

- Admit Cards: Will be issued 10 days prior to the examination date.
Examination Details
Eligible applicants must appear for a computer-based test conducted by IIITH. The examination will be held at multiple test centers across various cities. Details on the exam syllabus and center list are available on the official website.
- Admission to M.Tech programs is based solely on the written examination, which includes General Aptitude and Subject Tests.
- Applicants for M.S & Ph.D. programs will undergo an additional interview process.
International Applicants
Candidates from SAARC nations are eligible to apply for PGEE and will be considered on par with Indian applicants.
