Master of Science (M.Sc.) Courses Admission 2025
The Forest Research Institute (FRI) Deemed to be University, Dehradun, invites applications for admission to the following M.Sc. courses for the academic session 2025. Interested candidates are advised to apply within the given deadlines.
Important Dates
- Start of Application Process: 10th February 2025
- Last Date to Apply Online: 10th March 2025
- Last Date for Application Forms from Institute’s Counter: 10th March 2025
- Last Date for Receiving Completed Applications: 31st March 2025
- Date of Entrance Examination: 4th May 2025
Courses Offered & Eligibility Criteria:
- M.Sc. Forestry (43 Seats): Bachelor’s degree in science with at least one of the following subjects: Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, or a B.Sc. degree in Agriculture or Forestry.
- M.Sc. Wood Science & Technology (43 Seats): Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or a B.Sc. degree in Forestry.
- M.Sc. Environment Management (43 Seats): Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied sciences or a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE/B.Tech in Environment Science.
- M.Sc. Cellulose & Paper Technology (26 Seats): Bachelor’s degree in Science with Chemistry or BE/B.Tech (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering). Admission to the 2nd year of this course is subject to accreditation with CPPRI, Saharanpur.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination (for General category) and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.
Entrance Examination Centres:
The entrance test will be conducted at the following cities:
Dehradun, Jabalpur, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Shimla, Ranchi, Coimbatore, and Jorhat.
FRI MSc 2025 Reservation Policy:
Seats are reserved as per government norms:
- SC/ST Candidates: 15% and 7.5% respectively.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 27%
- Physically Handicapped: 3%
- ICFRE Employees: Two seats per course (over and above general seats).
How to Apply for FRI MSc 2025:
- Candidates must apply online at THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE
- Application forms can also be obtained from FRI’s bank counter.
- The completed application form must be submitted along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred) in favor of Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University, payable at Dehradun.
- Candidates applying for two or more courses must pay Rs. 1500/- separately for each course.
- Information Bulletin and application form can also be obtained via post by sending a Bank Draft of Rs. 1500/- to the Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University, P.O. I.P.E. Kaulagarh Road, Dehradun – 248195.
