Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) invites applications for its 3-year B.Sc. (Honours) programmes in Mathematics and Computer Science, and Mathematics and Physics for the academic year 2025–26. CMI BSc 2025 Programs
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics and Computer Science
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics and Physics Note: There is a common entrance examination for both programmes. Students may choose their specialization after admission.
Eligibility
- Candidates should have completed or be appearing for their 12th standard (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board.
- Admission is based on a written entrance examination.
- Direct admission is available for students with exceptional performance in National Olympiads (Mathematics, Physics, Informatics).

- Applications Open: Monday, 3 March 2025
- Last Date for Online Applications: Tuesday, 15 April 2025 (23:59 IST)
- Admit Cards Available: Saturday, 17 May 2025
- Entrance Examination: Saturday, 24 May 2025 (09:00-12:00 IST)
- Results Announcement: Approximately one month after the entrance exam
- Academic Session Commences: First week of August 2025
Selection Process
- Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the CMI entrance examination.
- Students excelling in the National Olympiads may be eligible for direct admission:
- Mathematics: International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) / European Girls Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (EGMOTC)
- Physics: Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC)
- Informatics: International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp (IOITC) or Gold/Silver Medalists in INOI
CMI BSc 2025 Syllabus:
The entrance examination is a test of aptitude for Mathematics, which has objective questions and long form questions, the expected level of understanding is upto Grade 12.
The syllabus includes all mathematics topics typically covered up to the 12th standard in the NCERT curriculum. This specifically encompasses relations and functions, algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors and matrices (up to three dimensions), counting, and probability. Additionally, it covers all topics up to the 10th standard, with a special emphasis on Euclidean geometry and basic number theory.

Fees and Scholarships
- Tuition Fee: ₹1,25,000 per semester
- Hostel and Mess Fee: ₹31,310 per semester
- Scholarships: Merit-based scholarships and need-based tuition waivers are available to eligible students.
