Applications are invited from unmarried eligible men and women candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Information Technology (Executive Branch) of the Indian Navy under a special Naval Orientation Course commencing June 2025 onwards at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates must fulfill the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Indian Navy SSC 2025 Eligibility
A candidate must have minimum 60% marks in English in Class X or XII and must have qualified one of the following educational streams:
- MSc/BE/B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/IT/Software Systems/Cyber Security/System Administration/Networking/Computer Systems and Networking/Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Internet of Things.
- OR MCA with BCA/BSc (Computer Science/Information Technology).

Role of an IT Officer in the Indian Navy
An IT officer is the new warrior in real sense, in the Indian Navy they plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication, cybersecurity, and technological operations across the naval units. At the officer level, they are responsible for managing, maintaining, and safeguarding critical information technology systems that support the Navy’s operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities include Cybersecurity and Data Protection, Network Management (Designing, deploying, and maintaining secure communication networks, including satellite-based systems, for real-time data exchange between naval ships, submarines, aircraft, and shore stations), IT System Administration, Development of Tactical Software, Educating naval personnel on IT systems and providing technical support for various naval platforms.
