Flexibility of learning at IGNOU:
The teaching learning arrangements in IGNOU are highly flexible. With this objective in mind, the University has followed a modular approach to Programme development for many of its UG degree level programmes. As per the University policy, programmes with modular approach are designed keeping in mind the need of the learners and offer the flexibility in the combination of courses as well as methods. The learners have the choice to decide the pace of their learning and they have the option of course-wise registration for various programmes. A learner enrolled in a modular programme can exit the programme at designated points and obtain a certificate or diploma, depending on the number of credits completed. Alternately depending on the number of credits earned, a learner with Certificate level can complete a Diploma or a Degree.
Eligibility for Bachelor programs at IGNOU:
Class 12 or equivalent is the basic requirement for UG programs however some programs also require some work experience. Students who have no formal 10+2 education can prepare and clear IGNOU’s BPP program and enrol for a UG course.
The Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) is a six-month course offered by IGNOU for students who want to pursue an undergraduate degree but havent cleared intermediate or Grade 12 exam. To facilitate such students to enter UG program, IGNOU has designed this preparatory Programme. To enrol students must be 18 years or older, and no formal qualification is required. The minimum duration of BPP is six months, and the maximum duration is two years. Subjects to be studied is Business Studies, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and English.
