What is AFCAT 2025?
The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications from Indian citizens (both men and women) to join its elite ranks as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers. The recruitment is through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 01/2025) for the Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches, and NCC Special Entry.
AFCAT 2025 Dates
Application Window: 2nd December 2024 (11:00 AM) to 31st December 2024 (11:30 PM)
Exam Dates: 22nd February 2025 and 23rd February 2025

Men (Short Service Commission): 21 seats
Women (Short Service Commission): 9 seats
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): 95 (Men), 27 (Women)
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): 53 (Men), 14 (Women)
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch
Roles include Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, Meteorology, and Weapon Systems.
NCC Special Entry
Reserved seats for NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate holders in the Flying Branch.

Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.
Age
Flying Branch: 20–24 years (Born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2006). Upper age limit extendable up to 26 years for Commercial Pilot License holders.
Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical): 20–26 years (Born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2006).
Marital Status
Unmarried candidates only. Marriage is not permitted during training.
Educational Qualifications
Flying Branch: Graduation (min. 60%) with Physics and Maths at 10+2 level or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical): BE/B.Tech (min. 60%) in relevant engineering disciplines.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation or post-graduation (as applicable) in relevant fields with a minimum of 60%.
AFCAT 2025 Registration Process
Registration: Create an account on the IAF’s official portals. ( Mentioned above)
Fill Application Form: Provide personal, academic, and preference details.
Upload Documents: Submit a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and thumb impression.
Pay Fee: ₹550 (Non-refundable, exempted for NCC Special Entry).
Submit Form: Verify and complete the application.
AFCAT Selection Process
Online AFCAT Examination (Objective): Covers General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning.
Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interviews: Multi-stage assessments, including psychological tests, group discussions, and personal interviews.
Medical Examination: Fitness evaluation as per IAF standards.
Benefits of Joining the Indian Air Force
Pay: ₹56,100–₹1,77,500 upon commissioning (as per 7th CPC).
Training Stipend: ₹56,100/month.
Insurance: Coverage up to ₹1.25 crore.
Allowances: Include flying, technical, field area, and remote locality incentives.
