The Program:
The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowship is offered by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) in collaboration with the Fulbright Program. It assists Indian students the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at a U.S. university by covering major travelling and academic expenses.
Duration and Streams:
These fellowships are awarded for up to two years ( 1 or 2 years depends on the duration of the course) to pursue a master’s degree at U.S. colleges and universities in the areas of Economics; Environmental Science/Studies; Higher Education Administration; International Affairs; International Legal Studies; Journalism and Mass Communication; Public Administration; Public Health; Urban and Regional Planning; and Women’s Studies/Gender Studies.
Eligibility for Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships 2026:
Open to Indian students who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent in fields such as education, public health, environmental science, engineering, social work, arts, etc. with at least 55% marks. A Masters or Post Graduate Diploma after three year bachelors program with the required percentage score will also suffice.
Coverage:
The Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships 2026 covers tuition, airfare, living stipend, and health insurance for the duration of the course.
The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowship is awarded annually.
